Who we are
Our website address is: https://kineograph.us.
Reviews
When visitors write a review of a film, we collect the name, email address, star rating, and review text they submit through the review form. Reviews are held for approval before they are published, so they don’t appear on the site right away.
Your name is shown publicly alongside your published review. Your email address is never displayed publicly.
The review form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, a spam-prevention service. Cloudflare may process some technical data (such as your browser and IP address) in order to determine whether a submission is likely to be spam. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy for more information: https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/.
Contact form and newsletter signup
If you use our contact form, we collect the name, email address, subject, and message you submit. If you sign up for our newsletter, we collect the name and email address you submit.
These submissions are stored within our own WordPress dashboard and are not sent to or shared with any outside email marketing service. We use this information only to respond to your message or to send you updates about the site, as applicable.
Analytics
We use analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) to help us understand how visitors use our site. These tools may set cookies and collect information such as your approximate location, browser type, device type, pages visited, and time spent on the site.
This information is used in aggregate to help us improve the site and is not used to personally identify you.
Media
Suggested text: If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Cookies
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Cloudflare Turnstile, used on the review form, may also set a cookie in order to check whether a submission is likely to be spam.
Our analytics tool may also set cookies to help distinguish between visitors and understand how the site is used.
Embedded content from other websites
Suggested text: Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Who we share your data with
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
Review submissions are checked by Cloudflare Turnstile, a third-party spam-prevention service, which may process some technical data about your visit in order to do so.
Our analytics provider may also receive information about your visit, such as your approximate location and the pages you view, in order to generate site-usage statistics.
How long we retain your data
If you submit a film review, the review and its details are retained indefinitely so it can remain published (once approved) or be moderated if needed.
If you use our contact form or sign up for our newsletter, that submission is retained indefinitely in our WordPress dashboard unless you ask us to delete it.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have submitted a film review, used our contact form, or signed up for our newsletter, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where your data is sent
Film review submissions are checked through Cloudflare Turnstile, an automated spam-prevention service, before they are held for approval.
